Behind the Framework
With an MBA and a keen eye for fashionable clothes that are timeless, functional, and comfortable, Jessica leads the operational and business side of the brand, while collaborating with Erika Jo on all garment designs.
As a single mother of two who leads an active lifestyle, she carefully looks for key elements when choosing clothes - a good fit, classically bold style, and easy to move in. These are characteristics she ensures that Jo Jamison designs embody.
Behind the designs
Erika Jo is the fashion designer behind all creative endeavors of Jo Jamison.
She has a BA in Psychology with minors in Gerontology and Chemistry, and an MFA in Fashion Design (Academy of Art University). Drawing since 9 years old, she does art commissions regularly, and is also an accomplished pianist of 20+ years. Altogether, her many passions inform the multifaceted, dynamic inspirations behind each Jo Jamison collection and garment.
When considering the women she designs for, Erika Jo reflects on personal stories others have shared with her, and how their experiences affect the way they perceive themselves. Inspired by anything from art, to music compositions, to travelling, she uses these to create bold color stories, shapes, and silhouettes that will best complement a woman’s body, not as it once was or what they hope for - but just as beautiful as it is in this present moment.
Her approach stems back to how she viewed herself and her body growing up, and the negative self perceptions that she sometimes struggles with today. Understanding that many others in all age groups have similar narratives, Erika Jo wants these women to see that the “right” design elements can inject a renewed sense of vitality into oneself, and help foster self-love, respect, and acceptance.
Through Jo Jamison, she hopes to contribute to the overall well-being of women, and how resilient they are in showing up every day to live their lives evermore gracefully and vibrantly.
